Best Kids Sandals Reviewed & Rated for Quality
Criteria Used for Evaluation
The material that the sandals are made out of plays a significant role in the overall comfort and durability of the product. Some materials are known to be a bit stiff and take longer to break in and others are known to be a bit softer, but may not be as durable. It is important to pay attention to the type of material to determine what works best for you and your little one. There are a couple of different materials that are used when making sandals and knowing the difference can help you out in the long wrong.
Leather is a common material that is used when making this product. Although leather is known to be quite stiff when first used, the stiffness tends to die down after multiple uses. Leather is a very durable material and actually conforms to the foot once broken in, so it ends up being quite a comfortable material in the long run.
A lot of sandals are made from a form of synthetic material. Depending on the actual combination of the material, it can make the product soft from the first wear. This type of material can also be water-resistant and prevent odor-causing bacteria from forming due to its quick-drying abilities. Unlike leather though, some of these products may not hold up as long, so you could be exchanging comfortability with durability.
Just remember that the most important focal point is the overall comfort. The material it is made from plays a major role in how comfortable it will fit. It is also important to keep in mind where you plan on having your child wear the sandals the most. If you want to protect your child’s toes from stubbing or injury, then buying a product that offers some form of toe protection is a great choice. Whatever the case is, shopping for the perfect pair of sandals shouldn’t be an overwhelming, negative experience. Keeping key factors in mind can go a long way into helping you find the ones that work best for you and your child!
Whether or not the product offers a non-slip grip may be a deal-breaker for you. We all know how clumsy kids can get and the last thing we need to worry about is slippery shoes that can only add to the clumsiness. When purchasing any type of shoe for a child, you may want to consider one that offers a rubber sole or non-slip type of material on the bottom of the shoe. This helps with overall traction and grip and won’t cause the bottom of the shoes to become extra slippery when they get wet. This helps with the overall safety of the child and the overall peace of mind for the parents.
As with anything we buy, the cost of the product we are buying always tops our priority list. Buying any type of clothing, including shoes and sandals can always seem to feel a little bit like a double-edged sword. If you spend too much and they grow out of it rather quickly, then you feel like you wasted your money. If you go for the cheapest product, then you end up having to buy another one down the road because they fell apart. Finding the right pair of sandals that meet everything on your checklist can be a daunting task, so it is important to keep a few things in mind when it pertains to the cost.
The cost of the sandals is primarily impacted by the material it is made from. Products that are made from synthetic material are often times going to cost less than those that are made from leather. This has a lot to do with the quality of the material, so if you are looking for something that is going to last through a series of hand-me-downs, then the leather choice might be your best option. If you are buying a pair for your only child or your youngest child and are on a tight budget, then you might want to look into the synthetic products.
The cost can also be impacted by size and color choice. It is common sense that a sandal that is bigger uses more material, so naturally, the price will increase. The same goes for specific color choices. Some colors and patterns are rarer than others, so they may cost a few more dollars than other colors and patterns. If a few extra dollars won’t impact your budget too bad and it is a pair that your child just has to have, then I say splurge and spend the extra money!
When it comes to buying sandals for your kids, making sure they fit right and are comfortable is at the top of the priority list. Buying products that offer adjustable straps can help out a lot with how comfortable they feel on your child’s feet. The adjustable straps allow you to adjust how tight or how loose the sandal fits, so your child can feel comfortable and confident all day. Some adjustable straps are made from velcro and others are a buckle design. Choosing the type of adjustable strap really has more to do with personal preference than anything else. Some people prefer velcro because it makes it easier for the child to adjust, but it can wear out over time. Some people prefer the buckle design simply for its durability, but this design can make it harder for kids to try to make the necessary adjustments.
